Tree of Lights Gives Volunteer Chance to Honor Patients

Since 1999, Maryjane Long, 79, has been a generous supporter of the Tree of Lights and she has lit many lights in the names of her family members and friends. “I was forever changed by my first Tree of Lights experience in Gloucester. I realized it is a wonderful way to remember all the people I met as a Care Dimensions volunteer,” which she has done since 2012, she says.

Maryjane moved from Cape Ann to Colorado in the fall of 2021, but she vows to continue her support of Tree of Lights. “When I illuminate a light in honor of my friends, loved ones, and the people I met as a Care Dimensions volunteer, I have the way to pay them tribute,” she says. “I can cherish their memories and thank them all for what they have given me, for they have changed me.

“Tree of Lights is a meaningful way to support the Care Dimensions mission, and it’s an opportunity to let people know that their loved ones are being remembered during the holidays. It’s a wonderful tradition.”

This holiday season, honor a loved one or friend by illuminating a light on the Care Dimensions Tree of Lights and inscribing their name in the Tree of Lights Tribute Book. To light a light in memory of those you hold dear, see our Tree of Lights page. Please join us for our lighting ceremonies to remember, treasure and honor our patients and their loved ones.
