Care Dimensions CMO receives honor in YWCA Tribute to Women

Care Dimensions announced the YWCA of Northeast Massachusetts selected Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Stephanie Patel as one of their honorees at its 38th Annual Tribute to Women ceremony held in a virtual event on May 13. 

The event honored a select group of women who contribute to the communities within the YWCA’s service area.

“During COVID-19, she provided guidance and safety procedures to more than 700 employees in addition to her primary role of ensuring quality care for Care Dimensions’ 4,000 hospice, palliative care and primary care patients,” the nomination of Patel reads. “She is active in outreach and educational activities and served on the palliative care steering committees for several area hospitals to educate clinical staff and the community on end-of-life issues. Her leadership has been a major factor in the expansion of Care Dimensions’ clinical programs, while enhancing its reputation as the foremost provider of hospice and palliative care services in the state, and a thought leader nationally.”

Board certified in hospice and palliative care medicine, family medicine and as a hospice medical director, Patel also is a fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She lectures locally and nationally on the topic of hospice and palliative care and teaches physicians as part of the Harvard Palliative Care Medicine Fellowship Program.

Since 1983, the YWCA’s Tribute to Women has recognized more than 1,200 Merrimack Valley and North Shore women leaders from business and community organizations.
