Care Dimensions Nurses Attend Leadership Program

Seventeen registered nurses at Care Dimensions recently wrapped up the inaugural Judy Cranney Nursing Leadership Institute. The program focused on how to become more effective and efficient leaders and included seven 3-hour sessions over the course of 3 months.

“This level of staff development can often be overlooked in the day-to-day operations,” said Chief Clinical Officer Patricia Ramsden. “We were looking for a special program to help our leaders improve their skills both personally and professionally, allowing them to grow into future roles within the organization.”

“The biggest takeaway for me was improving time management skills: how to avoid traps like procrastination and how to break down larger tasks that might be overwhelming into smaller tasks that are more able to be navigated,” said Clinical Director and program attendee Michelle McCall.

“Investing in our nurse leaders through this enrichment program enhances and elevates staff satisfaction, staff morale, professionalism, and positivity within the healthcare team,” added Erin Hill, Clinical Manager.

An experienced leadership coach led the sessions, which were made possible by a private donor who wanted to support staff at Care Dimensions.

The program is named in honor of Judy Cranney, former VP and chief operating officer who led Care Dimensions’ clinical services for nearly 19 years before retiring in 2021.
