Care Dimensions Receives $5,000 to Support Children's Bereavement Program

November 17, 2022

Care Dimensions, the largest hospice and palliative care provider to adults and children in Massachusetts, is proud to announce receiving a $5,000 grant from the Rockland Trust – East Boston Savings Bank Charitable Foundation. The funds will support the Care Dimensions children’s bereavement program, which offers individual support services for family members of patients, as well as group programs in the communities we serve.

“Our children’s program relies almost entirely on the generosity of donors, so we are so thankful to have this support,” said Samantha McCarthy, Children’s Program Manager. “Children’s Grief Awareness Day is November 17, so the timing of this grant is fitting. Our program helps grieving children feel less alone and offers them resources to handle their emotions and build important life skills such as coping and resiliency.”

“Children grieve in different ways than adults, so it’s important to have specialists who are trained to work with young people,” said Patrice DePasquale, Director of Bereavement Services. “We are so grateful to Rockland Trust for their commitment to support our children’s program, which will benefit the many families we serve.”

In addition to individual sessions with family members of patients, Care Dimensions provides community remembrance events and programming tailored to address unique types of loss.

“We believe a bank should not only provide financial products and services, but also be a strong advocate in the communities we call home,” said Andrea Borowiecki, Vice President of Charitable Giving & Community Engagement at Rockland Trust. “We are pleased to add Care Dimensions to the list of community non-profits who we partner with. Bereavement support is such an important part of the work being done by Care Dimensions, and we are proud to help make sure those programs are successful.”

Founded in 1907, Rockland Trust has over 120 branches across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
