Long Term Pharmacy Solutions Founder Steve Geoffroy (back row, second from left) and several employees show their support for the Care Dimensions Walk for Hospice.

Long Term Pharmacy Solutions is a niche pharmacy company that provides medications to patients in hospice care and those living in group homes and assisted living facilities. Long Term Pharmacy Solutions began 17 years ago, with just 10 employees and now they employ over 100 people. They work 24/7 to make sure that all of their clients have the medication they need to provide exceptional care for each individual patient. Steve Geoffroy, the proud owner of Long Term Pharmacy Solutions, strives to keep the company mission of care and compassion alive in the work of his employees every day. Aside from being a partner of Care Dimensions since 2013, Long Term Pharmacy Solutions has also donated to its Capital Campaign and the Walk for Hospice. This year, Steve is serving as one of the co-chairs for the Walk for Hospice and we spoke with him about the Walk.

Q.  Why is helping and being involved in our community so important to you and Long Term Pharmacy Solutions?

A.  You only get a short window to do things right when someone is on hospice. Care Dimensions does a great job at this, and we share this philosophy. Part of Long Term Pharmacy Solutions’ mission is helping make things as easy as we can for the patients so that they can be comfortable. We also strive to give the caregivers and clinicians the help they need to do their jobs. I really care about every patient that we serve. We treat all individuals with dignity, and we strive to provide them with the highest level of service. I put myself in other people’s shoes and try to see how they would feel and what they would need and want. Then we work to give our patients the best that we can.

Q.  Why are you involved with Care Dimensions?

A.  Long Term Pharmacy Solutions has worked with hospice patients since 2003, so we’ve seen how the service can benefit patients and families. Some of our employees also have had relatives on hospice, so we want to do what we can to help Care Dimensions continue to provide comprehensive and compassionate hospice care.

Q.  What Does the Walk for Hospice mean to Long Term Pharmacy Solutions and you?

A.  At first, the Walk for Hospice was a way for my company to raise money and donate to a fundraiser that helps the hospice in their mission to care for patients. But after I attended and I saw all the people there, I realized that it is more than a fundraiser. It is an event that is about remembrance and it allows people the opportunity to deal with grief. I was also amazed at how many employees from Care Dimensions were there, not because they had to be, but because they wanted to be. It is such a great event and I am very happy to be a part of it.
