Care Dimensions recognizes veteran commitment

Marblehead Reporter

Care Dimensions recently announced their North Shore We Honor Veterans Award recipients for 2016 are June Dennen, of Revere; Richard George, of Newburyport; and David Rogers, of Marblehead. Honorable mentions were also given to Richard Barbato, of Ipswich; Frank Kelly, of Marblehead; Theresa LaVoie, or Winthrop; Michael Minogue, of Danvers; and Tom Pendergast, of Peabody. These individuals were nominated by members of the community for their commitment to improving the lives of veterans.

All recipients will be honored at an awards breakfast from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Nov. 1 at Danversport Yacht Club, 161 Elliott St., Danvers.

As a Level Four Partner of the We Honor Veterans program, Care Dimensions joined together with the U.S. Department of the Veterans’ Affairs and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization to empower hospice professionals to meet the needs of dying Veterans. The program teaches respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgement — to comfort patients with a history of military service and possibly physical or psychological trauma.

“Care Dimensions is dedicated to promoting and providing the highest quality end-of-life care for our Veterans and to educating community organizations who also provide services for Veterans,” said Sheryl Meehan, director of volunteer services and chair of the veterans committee at Care Dimensions.
