Care Dimensions, formerly Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston, recognized several of its employees, including Newton resident Jean Brooks, in December at the nonprofit’s annual Staff Appreciation and Awards Dinner held at the Burlington Marriott.

Service awards were given to those with three, five, 10 and 20 years of service. In addition, several employees were recognized by their peers for outstanding service and compassionate care.

Brooks, a licensed practical nurse, received the 2015 Kathleen Schroot Memorial Award, given in honor of the first registered nurse hired at the hospice organization in 1989. Rene Scully, a registered nurse from Boxford also received the award. Additional recognitions went to Sarah Shepard, manager of Psycho-Social Support Services, who received the 2015 Rick Vescovi Memorial Award, and Caroline Coolen, of Salisbury, who received The Lane-Butler Gift of Compassion, an annual gift recognizing a hospice aide.

Since 1978, Care Dimensions has provided comprehensive and compassionate care for individuals and families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. As the non-profit leader in advanced illness care, we offer services in more than 95 communities in Eastern Massachusetts.
