Care Dimensions Named Employer of the Year by Hospice and Palliative Care Credentialing Organization

October 16, 2020

Danvers, MA – The Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center (HPCC) has named Care Dimensions as the winner of the HPCC 2021 Employer of the Year Award, marking the first time a New England-based organization has received the honor in the 16-year history of the national award.

The award is presented annually to an organization that has provided sustained support of the HPCC certification program for hospice and palliative caregivers. Care Dimensions requires nurses to obtain advanced certification within two years of employment and currently has 161 employees certified by HPCC, including nurses, nurse practitioners, hospice aides, and administrators. Another 50 are expected to sit for certification exams in the coming year.

“We are committed to creating a work environment that fosters and recognizes clinical expertise and professional advancement through continued education,” said President and CEO Patricia Ahern. “I’m so proud to work with our employees who exemplify and live our mission and values every day.”

Care Dimensions was selected for the award for its history of supporting certification and for actively endorsing and promoting certification through numerous efforts, including:

  • Financial support for certification examination and/or preparation for the examination
  • Salary recognition upon attainment and renewal of HPCC credentials
  • Facility recognition activities for achievement of HPCC credentials
  • Incorporation of certification into job descriptions or clinical ladder.

Ahern noted further that Care Dimensions also encourages career advancement by offering:

  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Scholarship programs
