Care Dimensions is pleased to announce that their Greater Boston We Honor Veterans Award Recipients for 2017 are John MacGillivray of Natick and The Soft Touch Big Band of Waltham.

Honorable mentions are also being given to several individuals from communities across Massachusetts, including Jeffrey Busha of Worcester, Kevin Cook of Randolph, Representative Carolyn Dykema of Holliston, Rene Fuertes of Randolph, Gumersindo Gomez of Springfield, Paula Scoble of Westwood, Dr. Gilbert Woodside, Jr. of Seekonk and Sheila Young of Natick.

These individuals were nominated by members of the community for their commitment to improving the lives of veterans. All recipients will be honored at an awards breakfast on Wednesday, November 1, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 450 Totten Pond Rd, Waltham.

As a Level Four Partner of the We Honor Veterans program, Care Dimensions has joined together with the U.S. Department of the Veterans’ Affairs and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization to empower hospice professionals to meet the unique needs of dying Veterans. The program teaches respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgement – to comfort patients with a history of military service and possibly physical or psychological trauma.

“Care Dimensions is dedicated to promoting and providing the highest quality end-of-life care for our Veterans and to educating community organizations who also provide services for Veterans,” said Sheryl Meehan, director of volunteer services and chair of the veterans committee at Care Dimensions. Please RSVP by October 25 to Heather Merrill at 781-373-6509 or email
