Letter to the Editor: Thanks to all who supported the annual Hospice Auction and Regatta

Despite the rain on Friday night, it was a glorious weekend for Care Dimensions’ 23rd Annual Auction and Regatta on June 16 and 18.  This year’s Auction and Regatta was the most successful in its 23-year history, raising more than $360,000 to support the expert and compassionate care provided by Care Dimensions.  The festivities at Corinthian Yacht Club, which included the Auction on Friday and the Regatta on Sunday, were attended by more than 350 guests and sailors.

Our deep appreciation is extended to our sponsors, including more than 100 North Shore and Boston area merchants who donated items for our auction and gift bags.  We are grateful to this year’s signature artist, Charlie Allen.  His magnificent painting, Perfect Summer Day, was one of the highlights of the live auction raising $18,500.  Most importantly, we thank our 20-member committee, co-chaired by Jessie Morgan and John Donovan, and Meryl Thompson, Chair Emerita for their commitment to the mission of Care Dimensions.  We salute them for sharing their time, talent and enthusiasm to make this a truly memorable event.

Our host, the Corinthian Yacht Club pulled out all the stops to make our event successful.  Many thanks to the Corinthian Yacht Club Officers and Committees, members and staff, including General Manager David Titus, for their consideration and hard work to ensure that every detail was perfect.

Sailing conditions were exceptional on Sunday for the 17 boats competing on a dynamic course organized by the Corinthian Yacht Club Race Committee. In addition, we offer our gratitude to Brian Gray of Ribcraft and Peter Morris for agreeing to photograph the race.

I would like to especially thank the Marblehead community for welcoming us for this annual event and for making my first Hospice Auction and Regatta as President and CEO of Care Dimensions a memorable occasion.  The continued generosity of this community enables Care Dimensions to respond to the needs of all who call upon us.

Warm regards,

Patricia Ahern, RN, MBA, FACHE
