Yoga for Living with Loss
May 11, 2016 – Care Dimensions presents, Yoga for Living with Loss, a 60-minute yoga class that supports grieving as an ongoing process. This gentle yoga class will be led by certified Yoga Instructor Nancy Sheena Sarles and will provide support for the body, mind, and spirit. Two classes will be offered on Tuesdays, May 31 through July 5, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesdays, June 1 through July 6, 11 a.m. to noon, at the Bertolon Center for Grief & Healing, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers. The cost for a 6-week class is $50.
In addition to being a certified Yoga Instructor, Sarles also acts as a holistic health coach, Reiki therapy practitioner and is the founder of Growing Younger Gracefully™ (www.GrowingYoungerGracefully.com). “Grief happens as much in our bodies as in our hearts and minds. As we breathe with mindfulness, as we move with awareness, as we stay connected to the present, we can learn how to cherish our memories, acknowledge our pain, and release grief that can stay trapped in our physical bodies,” said Sarles. “These classes are intended to connect us to our bodies so that we can maintain our well-being as we continue to live, and even thrive, while embracing our losses.”
Two free introductory sessions will also be held for those who would like to try a class before committing to the longer sessions. The introductory sessions will take place on Tuesday, May 24, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. or Wednesday, May 25, 11 a.m. to noon. All sessions/classes are open to anyone in the community who has experienced the death of someone close, regardless of hospice involvement.
Pre-registration is required for either the one-time or six-week sessions. To register or to learn more, please contact Care Dimensions at 855-774-5100 or email www.Grief@CareDimensions.org.
