Rockport artist donates painting to benefit Care Dimensions
Gloucester Daily Times
by Times Staff

Ray Crane of Rockport is the signature artist for the 21st annual Care Dimensions Auction and Regatta. Crane created “Sunset, Salem Sound,” which will be auctioned during the live auction.

This year’s signature artwork is a 24x36 oil painting on canvas. Crane features the classic rigging of the Friendship and the Barque Picton Castle in a quiet calm that provides a peaceful respite from the hectic pace of a 21st century world.

The donated artwork is featured on all Regatta materials, including the invitation and commemorative program book. Crane has consented to prints being made of the painting and proceeds will benefit Care Dimensions. Note cards will also be available for purchase.

The original painting will be auctioned during the event on Saturday, June 13, at Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead, with the regatta taking place at Eastern Country Club on Sunday, June 21.

The painting will be on display at Arnould Gallery and Framery in Marblehead in the weeks prior to the auction.

Proceeds from the auction and regatta support the Care Dimensions’ mission to provide comprehensive and compassionate support for children and adults with advanced illness, death and loss.
